TO SPACE AND

AND BEYOND

IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON
Becoming the first university to reach space using a reusable rocket.

Karman Space Programme was founded by four engineering students at Imperial College London with the objective of making life on earth better through space.

In addition to their technical objectives, the programme is designed to set undergraduate and postgraduate students up for the future. Members have gone on to achieving the following:

  • Getting postgraduate offers at top universities (e.g. MIT, Harvard, etc)

  • Creating their own startups (aerospace, maritime, AI, etc).

  • Working at top companies (e.g. Bloomberg, Optiver, Airbus, etc)

  • Establishing well-funded venture capital firms

  • and more!

REDEFINING STUDENT ENGINEERING

01 LAUNCH VEHICLES LAB

Launch vehicles are critical in enabling us to test our technology in space and at altitude. In the Launch Vehicle Lab, KSP develops cutting-edge reusable launch vehicles in-house that can fit various mission profiles. The most powerful student rocket ever built is to be launched next year.

02 MOONSHOT LAB

The Moonshot Lab gives students at Imperial College London a risk-free opportunity to work on moonshoot projects while studying. After graduation, they can commercialise the project and receive £80k+ in funding from our partners.

03 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LAB

The AI Lab is responsible for developing and applying artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to a variety of space-related challenges. These include spacecraft design, optimisation, and operations.

The most powerful student-built reusable rocket is planned to be launched in 2024 by Karman Space Programme. The rocket is the culmination of 3 years of research.

The programme is also actively working on other technologies such as autonomous vertical landing of rockets and providing internet access using high-altitude balloons.

In a world where the boundaries of innovation and achievement are constantly expanding, a group of determined university students has embarked on a mission to make history. Introducing the "Journey to the Edge," a feature-length documentary chronicling the ambition, ingenuity, and perseverance of the Karman Space Programme.

Produced in collaboration with award-winning filmmakers and passionate engineers, this documentary takes you behind the scenes of the first university-led initiative aiming to reach space using a reusable rocket. From the drawing board to the launch pad, "Journey to the Edge" offers an unfiltered glimpse into the complexities and triumphs that have shaped this groundbreaking project.
